Kazakhstan admires its foreign visitors by its great, endless steppes, gorgeous architecture of the local mosques, blue waters of Balkhash Lake and modern buildings and constructions of the city of Astana, which is at the same time the capital of the country.

Kazakhstan is the country, where antiquity is combines with modernity and Eastern traditions are combined with the Western modernism in the most unusual ways. Nowadays the country offers its foreign visitors different ways of spending their time, including the educational excursion routes around the country, eco tours and ethnic tours, fishing, alpinism and even hunting.

Medeu and Shymbulak are the two main resort areas that are popular for their pleasant climate, great mountains and modern conditions. A rather popular ski-resort of the country is also situated in Medeu area.

Balkhash Lake is also one of the main tourist destinations of the country, which is considered the “gem” of Kazakhstan and even though it is a very large one, it is rather shallow.
